Description

The 5P- Society is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing information and support to individuals with a deletion of the short arm (p) of chromosome 5 and their families. The 5p- Society promotes patient advocacy, engages in patient and professional education, and provides a variety of educational and support materials including a regular newsletter and brochures. 5p- syndrome is characterized by a distinctive, high-pitched, catlike cry in infancy, often with severe cognitive, speech, and motor difficulties that continue into adulthood.
