Description

The Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America, Inc. (MGFA) is a national, non-profit agency whose mission is to facilitate the timely diagnosis and optimal care of individuals affected by myasthenia gravis and closely related disorders and to improve their lives through programs of patient services, public information, medical research, professional education, advocacy and patient care. Myasthenia gravis is a rare autoimmune disease affecting the neuromuscular junction and producing weakness of voluntary muscles. The foundation produced a quarterly newsletter, brochures, newsletters, pamphlets, a Survival Guide, information cards and manuals for nurses and physicians. Founded in 1952, the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation has more than 36 chapters and 100 support groups.
